Hello everyone! Welcome to the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Canterbury Bells blog hop and giveaway!!! You should have just come from the blog of my uber-talented friend, Jaycee Gaspar. You can check out the entire blog hop list on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog. I’ve also added the list and the end of this post.
Take a look at this gorgeous stamp set! These flowers can be layered or you can use only the outline and watecolor the entire image. Below you will find some cards that will show you both ways of coloring the image.
KEEP THE FAITH CARD
For this card, I used the following: BAF Canterbury Bells stamp set, Paint a Flower Poppy for the sentiment, Nesting Frames Die , Arches cold press 300gms watercolor paper, Altenew watercolor brush markers, masking paper, foam squares and no line dye ink. The image was stamped onto the watercolor paper and on a masking paper then fussy cut in order to do the masking technique.
I started painting all the flowers with the citrus burst then layered the shadows using a mix of fresh lemon and sunkissed watercolors. For the deepest part of the flower and underneath the folds, I mixed a little bit of crimson to emphasize the shadows. I added some shading using Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.
HOPE TOMORROW IS BETTER CARD
For this clean and simple card, I used the BAF Canterbury Bells stamp, the Gradient stripes cover die and the Hope stamp set for the sentiment. This was a very quick card to make. I simply stamped the flower following the layering guide then I partially die cut the flower leaving a white border on the right side of the image. I then die cut the gradient stripes cover die and the hope word 5 times.
The cover die was adhered onto a salmon colored cardstock then the flower panel was attached with foam squares. The hope die cut was layered and adhered on top of each other to add dimension. The sentiment was stamped using Rose Gold embossing powder.
FOR YOU CARD
I used the small floral image from the BAF Canterbury Bells stamp set to create a background for this card. The Fancy For You die , Golden Trim Washi tape, distress inks, Versamark Ink and the pure white crisp embossing powder were also used for this card.
First, a background was created using Distress Inks. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass and Wilted Violet. When the inks were dry, I stamped the small flower image several times using Versamark Ink then heat embossed the using pure white embossing powder. The panel was then cut into half cause I wanted to create two cards. I die cut several pieces of white cardstock using the Fancy For You die cut. I added a gold strip using the gold trim washi tape then assembled the card.
