Hello, my friends! Welcome to my blog! Thanks to Therese Calvird for sending everyone over. I’m so excited for this Marvelous Monthly Series Release blog hop!!! For the complete details, make sure to drop by the Altenew Card Blog. You can find the full release here.

I created some cards using the products from this release. I hope you’ll like them!

GET WELL SOON

STEPS:

  1. Stamp the image from the Silk Art Stamp set using dye inks. With a spray bottle, add some water to the image.
  2. Using the stencils, add Versamark ink to some parts of the stamped images.
  3. Sprinkle Distress Glazes (Antique Linen and Salvaged Patina) on certain areas them emboss to create a mottled effect and for added contrast.
  4. Emboss the edges using Rose Gold embossing powder to create a frame.
  5. Stamp and emboss the sentiment from the Pots and Plants stamp set with Pure white embossing powder.
  6. Assemble the card.

I love this stamp set!!! I will definitely create more cards using this set. Other images in the set will look lovely on their own…

HELLO

STEPS:

  1. Stamp lightly using Antique Linen ink.
  2. Use the coordinating stencil from the CYLPK Silk Art to add color to the image.
  3. Deboss using the Dotted Starburst Debossing die.
  4. Die-cut the Waterbrush Hello die on the panel and die-cut four more on plain cardstock. Adhere on top of each other with adhesive.
  5. Add Rose gold embossing powder at the base of the die-cut for a pop of color.
  6. Inlay the word and mount it onto a blue card base.

This is an easy card to make. The debossing die adds a lot of texture to the card front.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

STEPS:

  1. Emboss 2 sheets of cardstock using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Silk Art 3d Embossing folder.
  2. Cut one panel smaller, add Persian Blue Dye ink to the raised side, and run it through the die cutting machine again.
  3. Die-cut the sentiment from the Essential Sentiment Strips Die.
  4. Assemble the card, making sure to line up the flowers/leaves of the colored panel to the plain card base.
I’M HERE FOR YOU

STEPS:

  1. Die-cut vellum using the Craft-a-Flower: Cape Marguerite layering dies.
  2. Color the flowers with Alcohol Markers: Cosmic Berry, Purple Wine, Puffy Heart, and Rose Quartz. Start with the lightest pink. Make sure to use a flicking motion when coloring the petals.
  3. Follow the layering based on the images on the insert card.
  4. Emboss a cardstock using the Organic Linen 3D embossing folder.
  5. Add embossing ink to the edges and emboss with Rose Gold embossing powder.
  6. Assemble the card with foam sheets.

I kept the card base white so that the flowers would stand out more.

BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED

STEPS:

  1. Stamp the image from the Build-a-Garden: NaNature’sagic on watercolor paper and emboss it using Rose Gold embossing powder.

I was so excited when I saw the products in the Craft Your Life: Florescence kit! I love huge images because that would mean there can be many ways to use this stamp set. Below are the cards I made for this hop.

CRAFT YOUR LIFE PROJECT KIT: FLORESCENCE

ALL OUR TOMORROWS DEPEND ON TODAY

STEPS:

  1. Stamp and emboss the image from the CYLPK: Florescence stamp using Pure White crisp embossing powder.
  2. Watercolor the image using the following dye inks: Rouge, Orange Cream, Warm Sunshine, Volcano Lake, Lagoon, Icy Water, Winter Lake, and Ultraviolet.
  3. Die-cut the painted panel using the Peeking Leaves Cover Die. Add four more die cuts for added dimension and adhere on top of each other.
  4. Stamp sentiment using Obsidian Ink and emboss with Clear embossing powder.
  5. Adhere the background to a 5×7 inches card base and do the inlay technique for the die-cut.
TIP: Make sure to use the Press and Seal to pick up all the tiny negative parts of the die. It is a bit tedious to put back all the tiny negative die cuts, but it was worth it!

I wanted to make a Mother’s Day card for my Mom. She loves bright colors, so that this card will be perfect for her. You can also use patterned paper for a quicker card instead of making your own backgrounds.

ISA WE COULDN’T BE PROUDER

I was blown away when I saw Jaycee Gaspar’s card using this technique, and I had to try it out. I urge you to watch the tutorial on making a card like this from my idol. đź’• He will walk you through all the steps. Such an ingenious way to use embossing folders! You can find it on his YouTube channel here. Make sure to check out his blog as well for more inspiration.

For my card, I added some gold foil washi tape at the bottom of the letters for more contrast. I also added embossed edges to finish off the card. Isa is short for Isabela, my eldest child, who graduated from college just a few days back. đź’•

Again, thank you so much, Jaycee, for continuing to be my source of inspiration!!!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog, and thanks to Terri Koszler for sending everyone over. For the complete details of this hop, head over to the Altenew blog. Take a look at this beautiful addition to the Craft-a-Flower family:

CRAFT-A-FLOWER: BUTTERFLY BUSH LAYERING DIE SET

Below is a card I made using this lovely layering die.

I ADMIRE YOU

STEPS:

  1. Die cut the layers using papers from the Sea shore and the Shades of Purple Gardient cardstocks.
  2. Assemble the flower according to the layering guide. For the last and lightest layer, die cut 3 more layers and add to the top for more dimension.
  3. Fussy cut the stems using brown cardstock.
  4. Die cut the leaves and add additional leaves from the Jumbo Garden Picks layering die set.
  5. Stamp the sentiment from the All Things A stamp set using Obsidian Ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  6. Assemble the card.

I like the size of this die because it’s big enough to use alone on a card front. But for those of you who know my style, you know how much I love layering. 🙂

Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Fragrant Florals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Fragrant Florals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Welcome to my blog, everyone! Thanks so much, Tenia Nelson, for sending everyone over. For the complete details of this hop, make sure to drop by the Altenew Blog.

I’m excited to share what I made for the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Fragrant Florals release! You can find this new release here. This is such a gorgeous kit, and there are many ways you can use the stamp, stencil, die, and embossing folder. Here are a few ways you can use them.

SENDING HAPPY THOUGHTS YOUR WAY

STEPS:

  1. Stamp image using a very light ink.
  2. Color the image using the stencils and Frosty Pink, Corral Berry, Ruby Red, Caribbean Sky, Arctic and Persian Blue Mixed Media Inks with a blender brush and detailed blender brush.
  3. Loosely outline the image with a .03 pencil.
  4. Emboss the sentiment on navy blue cardstock using Pure White Crisp Embossing powder.
  5. Die cut the image and trim down to fit a mini slimline card.
  6. Assemble the sentiments using foam squares.
TIP: Don’t throw away leftovers from the colored image. You can always add them to the inside of the card.

Blending the Mixed Media Inks was a dream!!! Since these are pigment inks, they stay wet long enough so that you can get a nice blend. Just use the same stencil to add layers to the petals and leaves. Always start with the lightest, then work towards the darkest. The detailed blending brushes work well, mainly when you apply the darkest to the areas where there should be shadow. I learned the pencil outline technique from the amazing watercolorist Danielle Donaldson and thought this technique would look wonderful with the Altenew images.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

STEPS:

  1. Emboss Neenah Solar White cardstock using the CYL Fragrant Florals 3d Embossing folder.
  2. Watercolor using the following dye inks: Hydrangea, Pinkalicious and Turquoise.
  3. Die cut image using the coordinating die.
  4. Emboss the image again with the 3D embossing folder.
  5. Add outline using a mechanical pencil.
  6. Stamp and emboss sentinent from the Ornamental Bliss Stamp set using Rose Gold embossing powder.
  7. Assemble card with foam squares.
TIP: Mist the front and back of the paper with water before embossing. This will help break down the paper fibers and prevent tearing.
