BUILD-A-FLOWER: WILD ROSE STAMP AND DIE BUNDLE

HANG IN THERE

BUILD-A-FLOWER: WILD ROSE STAMP AND DIE SET, ESSENTIAL SENTIMENT STRIPS DIE, MASKING PAPER, ROSE GOLD EMBOSSING POWDER, CARIBBEAN SKY DYE INK, LAPIS LAZULI WASHI TAPES, BRAD, VERSAMARK INK, NEENAH SOLAR WHITE CARDSTOCK, BLUE AND ORANGE CARDSTOCKS
  1. Stamp the floral image using Carribean Sky dye ink. Stamp the image again on masking paper and fussy cut the image.
  2. Mask the stamped image and stamp the floral image twice. (The image that was stamped first will be the one that will appear in front.)
  3. Add strips of the Lapiz Lazuli washi tapes to act as a border.
  4. Layer orange cradstock under the stamped image.
  5. Die cut the sentiment 5 times and adhere on top of each other.
  6. Add versamark ink to the brad and emboss with Rose gold embossing powder.
  7. Assemble the card.

I know this is a layering stamp set but I wanted to show you that you do not have to use all the layers. The outline stamp is a beauty in itself! I wanted to add a gold brad on the top right for an accent but didn’t have one so I added clear embossing ink to the surface of a silver brad then heat embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder. By adding a strip of orange at the bottom, the sentiment on the left, and the orange flap with a brad on top, a visual triangle was created which is pleasing to the eye. The rules/guidelines in scrapbooking can definitely be used in cardmaking to create a cohesive look 🙂

HERE FOR YOU

BUILD-A-FLOWER: WILD ROSE, ESSENTIAL SENTIMENT STRIPS DIE, LAPIS LAZULI SLIM WASHI TAPE, MASKING PAPER, CARIBBEAN SKY AND PERSIAN BLUE DYE INKS, EMBOSSING PEN
  1. Stamp the outline stamp using Carribean Sky dye ink. Mask the stamped image and stamp again to create a background.
  2. Stamp the layered stamps following the guide exept for the 1st stamp so that the lightest part will remain white.
  3. Continue stamping all the layers then add gold dots by using an embossing pen and Rose Gold Embossing powder.
  4. Create a striped background using washi tape for the sentiment.
  5. Die cut the sentiment 5 times and adhere on top of each other.
  6. Assemble the card using foam squares and adhesive.

For higher contrast, I used complementary colors. The stamped flowers were layered on the left side with foam squares and to balance it out, I added the sentiment on the right side.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Release Blog Hop

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Release Blog Hop

Hello, friends! Welcome to my blog! If you just came from Linda Westfall, you’re on the right track. For the complete list, please visit the Altenew Card Blog. Take a look at the gorgeous stamp set!

PAINT A FLOWER: WHITE SWAN ECHINACEA

I am a huge fan of Seeka and got my inspiration for this card from her beautiful clean and simple cards.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

PAINT-A-FLOWER: WHITE SWAN ECHINACEA STAMP SET, FINE FRAMES COVER DIE, OBSIDIAN PIGMENT INK, DISTRESS OXIDE INKS, CRYSTAL CLEAR EMBOSSING POWDER, MASKING PAPER, FINE FRAMES COVER DIE

I stamped the image 3 times on masking paper then fussy cut them. The middle image was stamped first onto the Neenah Solar White card front. Note that whatever you stamp first will be the image that will appear in front. I placed the mask on top of the stamped image then stamped again on the left and on the right of this image. I covered all the stamped images with the fussy-cut masking papers then created a border using post-it tape.

I then colored the exposed paper by blending 3 colors of Distress Oxide inks. I added water splatters for more texture. The best part is when you remove the tape and the masking paper to reveal the finished card front. The sentiment was stamped using Obsidian Ink then embossed with Clear embossing powder. To finish off the card, I die cut black paper using the Fine Frames Cover Die.

FEEL BETTER SOON

I created the mixed media background using Distress ink stains. Then, using the Diamond Snowflakes stencil, I added the pattern with distress inks as well as removed inks in some areas using baby wipes. I love the ghosting effect it created.

For added texture, I stamped some writings with black ink. (I’ve learned so much from Tiffany Solorio when it comes to mixed media techniques.😊❤️) The PAF White Swan Echinacea image was stamped with Versmark Ink then embossed using Rose Gold embossing powder. Some white splatters were added as well as an embossed sentiment stamped on black cardstock to finish off the card.

CRAFT-A-FLOWER: CALIFORNIA GIANTS

SENDING HEALING HUGS

CRAFT-A-FLOWER: CALIFORNIA GIANTS

I used watercolor paper to create this flower so that I can play with monochromatic shades of blue. The ombre background was created using Distress oxide inks Tumbled Glass, Salvaged Patina and Salty Ocean. The Garden Trellis Cover die added more texture to the background. To finish off this card, I embossed the sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set. I used cool colors for this card so that everything will blend well together.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Release Blog Hop

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Release Blog Hop

Welcome, everyone! If you just came from Joylita Dsouza blog, then you’re on the right track. For the full list of the hop, do drop by the Altenew Card Blog. Want to make a bold statement on your handmade cards? The Fashion Monger Dahlia is the flower for you! This set features one six-layer flower and two three-layer leaves. The leaves have a delicate and lacy feel to them to help you achieve a richer look on your projects. The included sentiments feature a gorgeous pairing of fonts to accompany your floral creations.  Gorgeous, right?

Below are a 2 samples of cards I made using the stamp set.

SENDING MY LOVE

I stamped the Build-a-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia using the Altenew dye inks from the Northern Shore ink set– Polar Bear, Icy Water. From the Enchanted Garden Dye Ink set, I used the Wisteria Lake and Hydrangea. The flowers were die cut using the coordinating die set. A blue cardstock was embossed using the Waffled Diamonds 3D embossing folder. The sentiment from the Ornamental Bliss stamp set was stamped using Versamark Ink and embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder.

SO HAPPY FOR YOU

Here’s a simple card I made using this stamp set. I made sure there was a lot of white space to give more emphasis to the flower itself. The leaves were directly stamped on the card front with Versamark Ink then embossed using Pure White embossing powder. Artist watercolor markers were used to color the leaves. The Fashion Monger Dahlia was colored using the following dye inks–Pastel Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Burnt Red, Sunray and Chamomile then cut using the coordinating die cut. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock then embossed using Pure White embossing powder.

SENDING LOTS OF LOVE

STEPS:

  1. Stamp with Versamark ink and emboss the outline image using Rose Gold embossing powder.

Because the vellum is a non-porous surface, it it’s easier to move and blend the the pigments. With paper, the ink will seep into the fibers very quickly. It wasn’t difficult to create the texture on the flowers by using different shades of the same color.
