Hello, my dear friends! Welcome to the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Poppy blog hop!!! If just came from the amazing Tenia Nelson, then you’re on the right track. For the complete details, make sure to drop by the Altenew Blog I’m so happy that Altenew created a layered die for this flower. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Below are two cards that I created using this wonderful die set.
WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS
I wanted to let the flowers pop so I chose a dark-colored cardstock. Because I didn’t have the right shades of cardstock, I just colored the die-cut petals using Copic markers YR07, BG01 and BG06.
The centers and the stems were embossed using Versamark Ink and Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I added white lines for visual interest which will lead the eyes to the flowers. These lines and the sentiment were stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed using Pure White crisp embossing powder.
SENDING WARM BLESSINGS
Here’s another card I made using an unusual combination of colors– purple, teal, shades of orange and gold. The cardstocks were die-cut and assembled to create the poppy flowers. I used gold cardstock for the leaves, stems and centers of the flowers.
For added layering, I used foam squares. I also cut the upper portion of the card front based on the position of the flowers then added foam squares for added interest to the card.
The sentiment was stamped with Versmark Ink and embossed using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. This sentiment strip was then lined with teal cardstock to create a border for added contrast to the background.
