Welcome to Altenew’s Craft-a-Flower: Rose Layering Die Set Blog Hop!!! I’m sure you loved the card samples of Therese Calvird ❤️ Thanks Therese for sending them over to my blog. Make sure to drop by the Altenew blog for complete details about this hop! I’m so excited to share with you some projects using this beautiful layering die set.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
This layering die set is easy to line up. The important part is lining up the 1st and 2nd layer. Just look for 3 areas where the 2nd layer lines up with the first layer. When this is done correctly, it’s easy to line up the other layers.
I used the Gradient Cardstocks Cherry Blossom to create these roses. For the leaves, I made a light wash using the greens and browns from the Watercolor brush makers. While the watercolor paper was still wet, I added salt which soaked up the liquid on the painted surface therefore creating areas with less pigment and giving the surface some texture.
After die cutting the leaves, all of the elements were adhered using Tombow glue and foam squares. The sentiment was embossed using Rose Gold embossing powder.
ASSORTED TAGS
Here are some assorted tags I made using the same floral die but this time, I made 6-7 watercolor washes varying in intensity keeping the biggest layer the lightest and the smallest (last layer) the darkest.
I added salt again and allowed the pieces to completely dry before die cutting. Sentiments for varying stamp sets from Altenew were then stamped using Versamark Ink then embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder.
The layers were glued together using Tombow multi liquid glue and foam squares for added dimension.
You may also purchase this gorgeous bundle (5% discount). This is a great option… no need to think of color combos 🙂
