Altenew Cozy Creatures Stamps/Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

OCT 2020 COZY CREATURES STAMP AND DIE RELEASE

Hello everyone! Welcome to Altenew’s Cozy Creatures Blog Hop! I’m so thrilled to be a part of this release which is full of fabulous stamp and die designs!! If you came from the talented and amazing Jaycee Gaspar, then you’re on the right track. You can check the full list on the Altenew Card Blog. For the full release, click this link. I have a number of card samples for this release so let’s get started!

U & ME

MATERIALS: Friends Forever Stamp and Die, Summer Garden Paper Pack, Gradient Cardstock Sea Shore, Dotted Starburst Debossing Die, Rose Gold Embossing Powder, Obsidian Black Ink, Foam Squares, Clear Embossing Powder

Take a look at the adorable Friends Forever Stamp and Die set!!! I just love this set because it has a lot of wonderful friendship sentiments both in script and san serif fonts (which in my opinion are easier to read 🙂 You can also embellish the cup with the other images included in this set or use them alone.

I made this card for my daughter and her dearest friend, Alexa. These two grew up alongside each other. There’s an exceptional bond created when you have known a friend for a long long time and their friendship is extra special. I stamped the cup image on Summer Garden Paper Pack paper using Obsidian Black Ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. The coordinating dies were used to cut out the cups. The straws were stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock then die cut as well. The U & ME and the sentiment were stamped using Versmark Ink and Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Dotted Starburst Debossing Die to create some texture to the card front before adhering the cups to the front of the card before assembling the card using foam squares.

I’M GLAD WE’RE FRIENDS FOR SO MANY REASONS

MATERIALS: Friends Forever Stamp and Die , A Love for Stripes Set A, Gradient Cardstock Sea Shore, Faber Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils, Obidian Black Ink, Versamark Ink, Clear Embossing powder, Copic alcohol markers

Here’s another card using the Friends Forever stamp and die set. I used some grey colored pencils to add shading to the cups for more dimension. When stamping sentiments, it’s best to use a Misti to make sure that you stamp straight and you can also control the pressure. Try not to push too hard otherwise you will not have a clear imprint of the letters.

THANKS FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE

MATERIALS: Sweet Flowers Stamp and Die, Friends Forever Stamp, Pegboard Canvas Cover Die, Gradient Cardstock Sea Shore, Rose gold embossing powder, Fine Frames Diamond Set, Watercolor brush markers-Purple Wine , Ruby Red, Ultraviolet, Sweet Leaf, Emerald and Espresso, Altenew Watercolor Paper, Fine Frames Diamond Die, Foam Squares, Versamark Ink

When I saw this stamp set, this card layout popped into my head. The image is so beautiful that it has to be the only focal point on the card. I have to admit… I have been using the Altenew liquid watercolors for more than a year now and I love how intense and vivid the colors are. However, I hardly used Purple Wine until I made this card. I appreciate it so much more now.

I stamped several of the flowers on watercolor paper using Versamark Ink then embossed with Gold embossing powder. The watercolor brush markers are so intense when added purely to watercolor paper. I’m not a fan of pink but this pink I love!!! Another pleasant surprise is the Altenew watercolor paper. It is smooth enough to be stamped on. The ink also tends to stay where you add it and not spread too much so there’s more control compared to other watercolor papers. I did a light wash using the Purple Wine then I intensified the base by adding undiluted pigment. I used the tip of my brush to guide the pigments where I wanted them to go. Very little water was added to make the pigments move. I also added Ultraviolet in certain areas for shadows. I chose a teal-colored card base to contrast the pink flowers. In order to finish the card, I added a diamond frame and used the sentiment from the Friends Forever stamp set.

THANKS

MATERIALS: Hello Hydrangea Stamp and die, WAtercolor liquid brush markers- Sea Breeze, Persian Blue, Turqouise, Ultraviolet, Ultramarine, Lagoon, Espresso, Sweet Leaf, Emerald, faber Castell polychromos colored pencils, Altenew Watercolor Paper, Pure White embossing powder, Rose Gold Embossing Powder, Sea salt, Foam Squares, Versamark Ink

This Hello Hydrangea stamp set has a huge image that will cover the entire card front. It’s such a pretty image and quite easy to color. After embossing the image on watercolor paper, I did a light wash using the sea breeze watercolor.

While the petals were still wet, I added Persian blue to the centers of the flowers. Colored pencil marks added more texture to the petals. The leaves were colored using a combination of greens and browns while the background was colored using the darker blues and some spatters of purples. The unique thanks sentiment was stamped using Versamark Ink then embossed with Rose Gold Embossing powder.

YOU CAN CREATE BEAUTY…

MATERIALS: Sweet Flowers Stamp and Die, Purple Wine Liquid Watercolor, Ruby Red, Ultraviolet, Sweet Leaf, Emerald and Espresso, Altenew Watercolor Paper, Obidian Black Ink, Versamark Ink, Circle Die

Of course, I made extra painted flowers!!! I always make extras so that I have a ready-made stash in case I need them for cards or layouts. Here, I used 2 watercolored flowers to create a wreath. The sentiment was stamped using Obsidian pigment ink then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

A circle die was used to cut out a window and I purposely cut it to include the edge of the card for a more unique look. The watercolored die cut flowers were then adhered to the card front using glue and foam tape for dimension.
