Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Welcome to my blog, everyone! Thanks so much, Linda Parker, for sending everybody over. For the complete list, head on to the Altenew Blog. Take a look at the Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Layering Die Set.

I created 2 cards using these layering dies–one is overflowing with flowers while the other one I kept simple. (Actually, I had a few leftover flowers and I didn’t want them to go to waste 🙂

YOU ARE SO LOVED

  1. Emboss craft paper using the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder.
  2. Cut the paper into strips and create a paper weaving basket.
  3. Watercolor sheets of paper in different coordinating colors for the different layers of the flowers and leaves and assemble.
  4. Watercolor the background.
  5. Destress the edges.
  6. Stamp and emboss the sentiment.
  7. Assemble the card.

I wanted to have a basket filled with flowers but didn’t have a die for it so I just created my own basket weave. Before cutting up the strips, I embossed the paper using the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder for added texture to the paper.

I added tissue paper behind the basket and the flowers to give more dimension to the arrangement. I also added some die cuts using the Branches and Berries Die to make the arrangement look fuller. Instead of using an assortment of cardstock, I chose to use watercolor. This will add more variation to the petals and leaves.

I miss making flower arrangements!!! Hopefully, someday, I can go back to arranging real flowers again.

STAY STRONG

  1. Watercolor the base of the card.
  2. Die cut white cardstock using the Linear Crossroads die.
  3. Adhere leftover flowers and leaves.
  4. Stamp and emboss the sentiment.
  5. Assemble the card.

This was an easy card to make since all the fussy work was already done. Use precision tweezers for adhering the tiny parts of the flowers.

Gorgeous cards. Going to have to get that crossroads die. It just looks great on your card and love the watercolor background to offset the flowers.
